Executive produced by Clint Eastwood, Dave Brubeck—In His Own Sweet Way is a beautiful, insightful tribute to one of the most influential American musicians of the twentieth century. Bruce Ricker has brought together previously unseen archival films and photographs, vintage performances (including the legendary set at the Newport Jazz Festival), along with a host of contemporary interviews with Brubeck fans ranging from Yo Yo Ma to Sting to Bill Cosby. Brubeck studied with Darius Milhaud before breaking out with his own Dave Brubeck Quartet in 1951, one of the rare musical groups whose extraordinary innovation was matched by its great commercial success.
