GREEN SCREENS PRESENTS

Pig Business
screening with
The Meatrix
Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 6:30pm

There will be a panel discussion about factory farming after the film followed by a reception in the Furman Gallery. Panelists include: Diane Hatz (Founder, Sustainable Table; Executive Producer, The Meatrix), Michael Yezzi and Jennifer Small (Owners, Flying Pigs Farm) as well as Jillian Gladstone (Pure Farms, Pure Water Campaign, Waterkeeper Alliance).

Four years ago, seasoned campaigner, eco-warrior, and mother of three Tracy Worcester set out to discover who was paying the real price for the cheap, imported pork on sale in Britain’s supermarkets. Pig Business follows the director as she infiltrates farms and firms in Europe and North America, uncovering maltreatment, mismanagement, and the damaging effects of intensive pig farming on our food, environment, health, and the welfare of agricultural communities.

Louis Fox’s The Meatrix is a short peek behind the curtain of factory farms.

Please note: Unfortunately, filmmaker Tracy Worcester will not be able to attend the screening.
