Cisco Pike
Tuesday, November 9 at 7:30pm

Charismatic Kris Kristofferson stars as fallen rock star Cisco Pike in Bill Norton’s 1970s classic about burnt-out hippiedom and uncertain redemption. Live set by country rock legend D. Charles Speer and the Helix follows the screening and then, move on to an open bar afterparty in the Furman Gallery with music by J Tripp of Strange Baby!

Scene Photo Against the run-down backdrop of Venice Beach, Cisco shambles through attempts at reconciling with a girlfriend (Karen Black), as well as disastrous and/or depressive reunions with old associates (Wavy Gravy and Harry Dean Stanton). Fresh out of jail, he is strong-armed back into dealing drugs by a narc (Gene Hackman). Looking straight off the cover of his album The Silver-Tongued Devil and I, Kristofferson powers through on charisma, on screen and on the soundtrack. Featuring Warhol Factory superstar Viva.
