Screen star, matinée idol, playwright, composer - no 20th-century British entertainer captured the spirit of romance quite like Ivor Novello. Half a century after his death, his music lives on. Recently, the Oscar-winning film Gosford Park awakened huge interest in his work. Amazingly, New York has never had a concert dedicated solely to his music…until now! On Sunday, November 24th at 4pm, we will be showing Alfred Hitchcock's 1926 classic THE LODGER with live piano accompaniment, starring Ivor Novello in the title role.

Following the screening at 8pm comes the first U.S. performance of Love From Ivor, a tribute to his genius. A company of actor-musicians, headlined by Gillian Humphreys (former star of the famed D'Oyly Carte Opera), brings the music of Ivor Novello to the Walter Reade Theater direct from a sell-out performance at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London. The performance is Novello's most important New York outing in decades - a chance to discover the magic of his dancing years.
